Step into the secret lair of MTNCAT100…

The 2025 Ride with GPS International #CoffeeOutside celebration hits Richmond again, click the photo below for more information (and ways to win SICK PRIZES!)

MTNCAT 2024 is a wrap, but to stoke the fire until 2025, make sure you watch the recap video from Robin Pyle of Vertical Sandbox Productions.

6.7.2025

MTNCAT is for the trails.

Everyone’s entry fees go to the folks that build the trails, because without the constant work of these crews, we wouldn’t have great trails.

Self Supported, to a degree

While largely you are responsible for your own navigation, safety, food and water management, you will have an opportunity for a drop bag half way through the course. In addition, you will encounter volunteers stationed at key points with water.

When and Where

We’ll want to get an early start on this day, I assure you – so be ready to roll around sunrise.
Meetup location will be revealed in a secret rider email, sent out the week before the ride.

This is an open course ride on multi-directional trails. You will absolutely be expected to be respectful and act as a trail steward for the duration of your ride. Call out blind turns, be courteous to other trail traffic, and be careful on road sections.

Noone knows or cares that you’re on a trails mission. Be excellent to each other.

Winner Categories

I figure that by the time you’re willingly signing up for a 100 mile mountainbike ride, you don’t need more schwag from local bike shops. You don’t need a tshirt, hat, or waterbottles.

What you do get is a high honor, a vested membership into the VERY SELECT FEW that have finished with fastest times. Top men, top women, top non-binary. Fastest out-of-towner. Singlespeed. Y’all will receive handmade denim vests to commemorate your victory. They just don’t make em like this anymore, I hope you’re ready.

Also keep your eyes out for some sub-categories to pop up. Secret Strava segments. Most Gracious Rider of the day. Longest stay in the Outpost walk-in beer fridge. Most Turtles spotted. BEST JORTS.

Best Trick

Best trick along the course, as deemed by volunteers.

Best Jorts

Exactly what it sounds like, best jorts worn all day win a secret prize.

Fastest Climb

Nimblest climb up a timed segment will get you a special treat.

That’s it, boss

Learn the trails, plan all your water stops, put gas in the tank. Start hydrating now.
